Q: Do you offer installation?
A: Yes, all of our products have the option of being professionally installed and tested by alteredCart. To order the installation service just select ‘yes' in the installation drop down box when you make your purchase.
Q: Can I install the software myself?
A: Yes. Every software distribution includes detailed instructions to install the software.
Q: Do I need to know Smarty, PHP, HTML, etc, to use or install the software?
A: No. All you need is a text editor and a FTP client. You just follow the directions to copy and paste the code into the appropriate files, and then upload them to your website server.

X-Cart & Compatibility Questions
Q: Are your products compatible with all X-Cart versions?
A: alteredCart's products are compatible with versions 4.x.x and up. Not all products are available for each X-Cart version. Please check the individual product page and view the 'Version' dropdown for the available verisons.
Sales & Licensing
Q: Do you offer upgrades?
A: All minor software upgrades are free. Login to your account and go to the Account/Downloads -> My Licenses section to download the latest version. For major updates (for example, X-Cart 4.3 to 4.4) you can purchase a discounted upgrade here.
Q: What is your return policy?
A: All sales of downloadable software from alteredCart.com are deemed final, and can not be returned.
Q: Are your PHP files encrypted?
A: Some of the core PHP files are encrypted using Ioncube. What this means is that they are not able to be modified by the end user. However any files that need to be frequently modified, or are in any way related to the display of your site are fully open source.
Q: Can I change the look of the software?
A: Yes, even though the core PHP files are not able to modified, all of alteredCart's software applications are built using the flexible Smarty Template Engine. With this setup you can modify the HTML and smarty tags to change the look and feel of the code independently of the PHP code.
